Director Chuck Hite
Our director has been the Chief of the Tribe of Pride since 1987, and we are happy to have him
as an instrumental part of the music program here at SHS !
In 1981, Hite attained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Music composition
with an emphasis in Music Education from Radford University. Upon graduating, he was Band Director at Coeburn HS
from 1981-1987. Today, he actively arranges music for marching programs in the area and judges contests in the
state of Virginia. Hite has also had the honor of conducting All-County bands throughout the state of Virginia.
Outside of the school environment, Hite is a Deacon at Ramoth Baptist Church, and was named Teacher
of the year for supporting church music in the Fredericksburg area. He and his wife Carol have two children Tiffany
and Trevor, and one grandson, Trent.
